Driver Coaching Dashboard
Driver Coaching
The Driver Coaching Dashboard surfaces actionable insights and helps you focus on addressing the drivers and specific behaviors that are putting you most at risk.

What are the main features in Driver Coaching?
At the top, you'll find the most important trends applicable to you.
- Trending by Alert Type
- At a glance, a safety or fleet manager can see how their fleet or individual drivers are performing as it relates to individual alert types such as Tailgating, Speeding, Seat Belt Use, Phone Use, etc.
- Coachable Insights
- As a way to be more proactive about risky driving behavior, the solution will present trends in “feed” form and allow for coaching on these insights. Significant increases or decreases by driver for certain behaviors will be identified in this area.
What do I need to get started?
Drivers
- The report displays alerts based on drivers, NOT trackers. In order to use this feature, Drivers must be assigned to trackers.
Alert Trends
- Safety Score, Speeding, Rapid Acceleration, and Harsh Braking trends are included.
- If AI is enabled for cameras, Seatbelt Warnings, Phone In Use, and Tailgating alert trends are also included.
How do we calculate the data?
- Monthly Trends
- Job is run on the first day of the next month to compile the previous month.
- Month to Date Trends
- Job is run each morning for the current month.
- Safety Score
- This currently only includes non-AI alerts such as Rapid Acceleration, Harsh Braking, and Speeding.
Fleet and Driver Safety Trends
Safety Trends
How can I analyze safety trends for my fleet or individual drivers over the past 6 months?
To analyze safety trends, you should review the safety score or each individual alert type as a trend over the previous 6 months.
- The Coaching Status filter does not impact this graph.
- By default, the graph displays fleet-wide trends, but you can filter by individual driver to see specific trends for each driver.
How does the percentage increase or decrease from previous months display?
The percentage increase or decrease from the previous month is displayed in both the Safety Trends and Coachable Safety Insights sections.
While all alerts display the percentage change, Safety Score – which is itself a percentage – shows both percentage change and percentage point change upon hover.
For example, a Safety Score that goes from 50% to 60% would be a 20% change, or 10 percentage points.
Coachable Safety Insights
How can I use Coachable Safety Insights to improve driver safety?
To improve driver safety using Coachable Safety Insights, first identify trends in the safety score and individual alert types by fleet or driver.
You can build Coaching Sessions that include safety score and individual alert trends for a driver once a trend has been identified, or identify your safest drivers for incentive programs. Individual alerts can also be added to your Coaching Session to provide examples that can be constructively coached.
How are drivers ranked?
- Drivers are ranked numerically best to worst (1 to x) for the safety score and each alert.
- If the driver did not drive in the current month they are ranked 0. They are accessible via the Driver filter, but will always be listed at the bottom of the driver list regardless of the way the column is sorted.
- By default the drivers with the worst safety score or most alerts per 100 miles will be at the top.
- The user can sort by clicking the “Ranking” header to see the best drivers at the top.
What will completed months display?
Completed months will display:
- Safety Score for the entire month.
- Alerts per 100 miles driven.
What will the current month display?
Current month will display:
- Safety Score up to the previous day.
- Alert trends using the number of alerts per 100 miles driven for the current month as of the previous day (month to date).
What are Driver names linked to?
Driver names are linked to the following:
- Safety Report filtered on that driver OR
- Alerts report filtered on the Driver and the alert from the trend. If there is a video associated with alerts this is a way to get to them from the dashboard.
What is a Coaching Session?
Individual coaching elements on each trend have been replaced with Coaching Sessions.
You can view previous Coaching Sessions or start a Coaching Session from a trend line and add other relevant trends or alerts.
If a Coaching Session is in progress, each trend can be easily added to it.
